Watercolor paints, like children, are bright, mercurial, and rarely stay right where you put them.

I am a North Carolina watercolor artist and full-time graphic artist. I have been painting in watercolors for over 15 years and have studied art in North Carolina and in Germany. I have exhibited my watercolors in a variety of juried shows and exhibitions. I love the process of collaborating with clients to put their ideas on paper.

Watercolors dry differently depending on the temperature, the moisture in the air, and the atmosphere.  I think they would probably even respond to altitude.  I decide to drip water into the wet paint, and if I decide to drip another color into a drying wash, they do something different every time and I love it. I have big, floppy brushes that I can use to fling paint and drip paint, and I repeatedly lay water down in areas to get the paint to bleed and bloom.
