15″ by 11″ watercolor on paper, more from my glass series. I just love vintage glass. With the holidays and all the related events, I feel bad that this little painting took me so long. Here’s to a bright and shiny Christmas!

15 by 22″ watercolor on paper. Perfect that I finally managed to complete this on the morning of black friday. This is Black Sunshine is an homage to one of my favorite White Zombie songs – the one that I love to turn up loud on the highway as I try to be mindful not to go TOO fast. There is no actual black in this painting; I don’t use black paint. But I love the organic play of the dark colors, crisp, precise, and maybe a little sinister?

I’ve painted another portrait of Xander – I think this is 15 or 16 paintings featuring him. How can I help it – he’s such an inspiration, so gorgeous, smart, full of life, insightful, mercurial, vibrant – all the amazing things that made me start painting again in the first place. He was the first thing I painted after years of not painting. And he is a subject that I’m sure I will return to for as long as I paint. Happy 3rd birthday, Xander!
