When we get clarity on what we want to create and it’s for the greater good of humanity, then that vision can happen more easily. When we make space to show up this way, the universe will fill it with our desires, but we have to make space. How are you going to make space in 2018 to create what you really want that will be for the greater good of humanity? What ritual might help your mindset make space?  from Caroline Adams Miller  #Purpose

I have cut ties with my largest and most consuming client to focus my energies on my own work.  The only remaining clients are those who don’t require time from me each week, so I can move from project to project, enjoying the excitement and novelty of each new challenge.  I begin 2018 as an artist working only for myself.  I am blessed to begin the new year accepting only those projects that I choose to accept – the ones that inspire me.  My work will be for the good of humanity in so many ways – a print of a painting to raise money for a cause, an original watercolor that will remind a family of their love for each other, or an affirmation of the color and beauty in the world that will brighten someone’s day.  My rituals of art are created in solitude with a mug of tea and punk rock music quietly streaming on my iPad. I create from a quiet solitude, but I hope that my work’s voice and impact extend far beyond the walls of my quiet studio.

If you choose to tackle harder goals on a daily basis, imagine how you could amplify the positive impact you want to have on the world. It’s often said that “You can’t keep what you don’t give away.’” What will you give to other people through your best work in 2018 that will positively impact them so that you might keep it, as well? What do you need to do in 2018 to ensure that you live without unnecessary regrets and have that kind of fulfilling purpose and impact on others?  – from Caroline Adams Miller #Purpose

I will give my time and talent to my new church.  I will offer discounted works to card stationery publishers.  I will offer my pieces for free distribution through a variety of online venues.  I will pay for framing and printing and offer my works for display at local venues.  All these ways I can give my works away will come back to me when more people see my pieces; through giving away my talents I create a “brand awareness” for my works.  I hope that the pieces and the works that I give away will bring joy, clarity, and eloquence to the people who will see them and use them.

I will not regret turning down a project that does not inspire me.  I will not work on an artwork for only the money.  I want to create works in my unique voice; I want to create works that bring joy and celebration.  I am in a unique position with a unique skillset and rich resources.  I will use those resources to build a new career for myself based on my values and my purpose.
